Tower Work at N1DDK
KLM Log Periodic Antenna. It was here when I purchased the house. As near as I can tell it was installed in 1976.
Here I go up the tower. Today I need to install the New Balun. The Brake cover fell off the rotor so I need to re-install that as well. Today the Log Perioic antenna has a strange problem. It loads lincely pointing north and west, but east and south it does not work at all. I hope I can find the feedline problem.
Here is where I am going to insall the Balun. This one is rated at 1 KW, There was one up here when I baught the house, but it was rated at 125 KW, and I needed to take it down when we remodeled the house and I needed to unguy the tower. I did not want all that weight up there. I offered it to the former owner and he took it to his new QTH.

Here I am near the top. I have just replaced the rotors breake cover, Now I am In the process of liiking at the feedline to the log. Hey look at this after more than 20 years, a hardline connector has come loose. How do you put these things on anyway?
